Try not to eat anything 2 hours before bedtime. And when you lay down, try sleeping on your left side and curling up into a fetal position, and breath slow as you in hale and exhale, you can actually slow your heart rate down this way I've found. My heart sometimes pounds when I lay down, but I have Mitral Valve Prolapse which causes it. See the doc though if it causes insomnia and anxiety or makes it hard to fall asleep.
