English food is bland compared to US food. (No mean to offend, just what I observed/tasted).
It means it doesn't have a lot of spice or taste...kind of like the difference between a Grey sky and a red sunset...the red sunset has more "spice".

bland food is food that doesnt have much taste...plain, not flavorful. Mostly used for babies
