Immediate thoughts of General Sherman aside, you peel them, slice thin (like a thick potato chip) and soak in cold, salted water for about 20 mins. Take them out of the water and dry well with a paper towel. Deep fry in peanut oil, then immediately remove and sprinkle with sea salt. Eat with a cubano sandwich and a side of sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.
If you want a real treat, do the same thing with a sweet potato and mix the 2 chips together. It's an amazing combination.
BTW, they taste NOTHING like a banana. So if you try peeling them and eating them raw, you'll be in for a rather unpleasant shock. (think raw turnip)

First you need a really, really big pot. Pick the plantation up, and shake off all the dirt. Give the slaves their freedom, but put the Massa & his family in the pot with the house, all the crops, and any trees that lined the avenue up to the house.
Boil the pot for about two weeks, and invite the slaves back to feast on the bones.

There are so many ways!
You can just eat them raw, like a banana, or you can fry them up with a little butter and top them with cinnamon and sugar. SOO good! You can also cover them in tin foil, and place them on a BBQ or in an oven until they've cooked, (it only takes a few min, no more than 5). I like sticking a little chocolate in them and then covering them in foil and cooking them to give it a little "suprise" in the middle. Or, if you want to fry them like fried bananas, here's a really easy recipe: cut the plantains in small chunks, coat them in pancake batter, and fry in a little oil until brown. They're super easy, and really good!

You mean of course a plantain or platano right?... Basically any way you can cook a potato. My favorite involves slicing the plantains into thick chips and frying them then pressing the chips flat with the heel of an iron skillet then frying them again. Add a pinch of sea salt and you can't beat it.

I think you mean plantain. You can fry them or bake them. For frying, chop about 1" thick and fry in oil just until browned. Season salty or sweet (sugar or honey). Or you can fry them thin like potato chips, salt and serve like chips with sandwiches. I like this way best. You can also bake them (less calories) and serve sweet. If you want more recipes, check out some Caribbean websites or visit your neighborhood West Indian restaurant if you are lucky enough to live near one. While you are there, get some patties and ginger beer to go with those plantains!

take the skin off. Then cut up the fruit and fry it. Make sure the skin is yellow and or black. Cook it to a golden brown. They are good.
If you cook it while it is green it has no taste. IMO
