A friend of mine had oral with a guy she was dating for a long time. They never had vaginal or anal sex. She's very sure that he did not have HIV she's known him for a long time, and knows about his past. He never actually ejaculated in her mouth either, also she was never aware of any sores in her mouth. What are her chances of having HIV? She's really scared but she's kind of a hypochondriac. I told her not to worry. What do you think?

Her risk is extrememly low ....i wouldn't worry about it. orrying can cause stress.....if you are still in doubt, tell your friend to have a test

Oral sex carries an extremely low chance of transmission. The fact there there was no ejaculate in her mouth, or sores would make the chances even less. Nonetheless there are some cases of HIV being transmitted through oral sex. If it is bothering her that much,she can always get tested. She should until 3 months after her last exposure. One: Knowing him for a long time is not a criteria as he may have engaged in one single unprotected act that could've got him infected.
Two: the Only way to find out is through testing the period for being sure is from 3-6 months untill it is sure untill that time please abstain or have safe sex.
Three: When doing Oral sex use a Condom although risks are not as high as vaginal or Anal but still there is a risk.

Transmission in this manner is low , but she should still be tested if shes worried...peace of mind is better than anything. If its a parental or privacy issue look in your area for free clinics , they usually do free HIV tests, and its confidential. Plus the folks there can talk to your friend about protection ....even for oral. They will also be able to answer all those embarrasing questions she may have. Just be there for her.

You can get HIV and a host of other STD's from oral sex (ejaculation or not). Tell your friend to get tested and practice safer sex. I imagine she's worried NOW because he's moved on and she's found out he probably was having sex (yes, oral is sex!) with others too.

Your friend is extremely unlikely to have contracted HIV from the experiences you describe. As an active person though, she should get tested on a regular basis. You are right, she does not need to worry.

look the only way to get an answer for her is to go and take a test the chances are slim that it is hiv but she needs to check. if she is infected with something it is better to know soonder then later to start treatment. she could have gotten hep c or some other disease.

Probably not but the risk of oral S is to get preganent in the stomach instead of in the womb. This may result in the baby coming out backwards instead of head first

She does not have AIDS.
She did have sex.
Why would she even bring up the issue of AIDS.
Do you know anybody that has AIDS? Give me a break. Unless you live in NY, San Fran, or Miami, no regular people have AIDS.

first, dang did she tell you this or it's really you? if this is true she may just have an std and needs to see the doctor first and if she has HIV he may or may not have been the one who gave it to her so tell her too see the doctor and stop puttin Sh** in her mouth

Something in saliva kills the HIV virus and transmission in this way is almost unheard of.
