* Having multiple sex partners.
* Having high-risk partner(s) (partner has multiple sex partners or HSV-infected sex partners).
* Having unprotected sexual contact (not using condoms).
* Starting sexual activity before age 18.
* Having an impaired immune system.
* Being a woman. Women are more likely than men to become infected with HSV and tend to have more severe and longer-lasting symptoms. Women also are at a greater risk of having complications from genital herpes infection.

What are the risk factors for getting genital herpes? Sexual contact is the risk factor. Also, it is recommended that towels and sheets are washed after every use during an outbreak. A condom does help, but it does not provide 100% protection. Also it is estimated that 25% of Americans are infected with genital herpes, many who are not aware of it. A risk factor is something that increases your likelihood of getting a disease or condition.

It is possible to develop genital herpes with or without the risk factors listed below. However, the more risk factors you have, the greater your likelihood of becoming infected with genital herpes. If you have a number of risk factors, ask your healthcare provider what you can do to reduce your risk.

Studies have found that cases of genital herpes have continued to increase. From the 1970s to the 1990s, HSV-2, the virus that causes genital herpes, has increased by 30%.

Anyone who is sexually active (anyone who has any vaginal, oral, or anal contact with others) can get it. If a person has oral herpes and performs oral sex, it is possible to develop genital herpes from that contact.

The following factors can increase your risk of becoming infected with genital herpes:

Behaviors/Lifestyle

Unprotected sex
Became sexually active at a young age
Have been sexually active for many years
Have had several sexual partners
Has a partner who is infected with genital herpes
Male homosexual activity

Sex

Women (one out of every four women) are more likely than men (one out of every five) to become infected with genital herpes

Socioeconomic Factors

Young adults
The majority of new infections occur in adolescents and young adults
In young adults, herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) infection is becoming a more common cause of genital herpes

I got identified with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 7 yrs ago, while I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I realize lots of girls will say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/DgCgv everything got better.

Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program provided the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.
