Just a little tid bit of knowledge for ya.
New research suggests that the large amount of protien in cows milk actually leeches calcium from your bones. And the synthetic calcium and vitamin D they add doesn't really help your bones much. It's actually better for your bones to reduce your protien intake. And the average US meat eating person consumes way above the recommended amount of protien. Studies have shown that milk drinking meat eating people are much more likely to have osteoporosis as well as many other problems than vegetarians and vegans. Hmmm.....If milk is actually bad for your bones, they why do all the commercials and such tell you it's good. Because they don't have to support their evidence anymore than saying calcium is good for bones. Milk has calcium. They just leave out the fact that it has way too much protient and other bad stuff. It helps them make more money.
Oh and anyone who says that eating eggs doesn't kill any animals doesn't really know what an egg is. If I take a morning after pill or have an abortion, I am still killing my child. If I eat a chickens egg, I am killing a baby chicken.

I have been a vegetarian for six years. I was raised eating meat and seeing it as the normal thing to do. I began to see the cruelty people perpetrated on animals because we, as a species, believe we are superior to our cousins. I don't feel that human beings deserve to control the lives of any other living being because they see themselves as superior. After you've not eaten meat for so long it begins to look disgusting. That's not to say that every once in a while you don't get into a bad mood and want a burger but you just ignore the urge and it goes away. It is completely normal for some kinds of vegetarians to still eat some kinds of meat, some eat shellfish because they are related to bugs and have no nervous system to speak of, some eat eggs and dairy, some eat only vegetables, and there are some that eat only fruit because they believe it is evil to eat anything that will have to die for your food. It is simply a personal choice. Some people just have to find their own reasons and be tough but some people don't miss meat at all because they think it is disgusting.

Oh come on! This is absolutely assinine. Look, meat protien is far from the best useable protien. There is so much more, better protien out there. Nuts, legumes, and pulses, for instance. Some vegetarians eat eggs, as long as they aren't fertilized. Some eat cheese and drink milk.
But what I guess most people don't get is that our current diet in the west is way too high in protien! Humans don't need that much of it. And the less one eats, the healthier they tend to be in regards to things like high blood pressure, stroke and heart attack, cancer, diabetes, and more! Those are some pretty HUGE health issues!
So before you go off wondering how veg's have strength, stop and consider that your way isn't the only way and strength doesn't come only from meat!

Think of the strongest animal you know. A horse, an Elephant. None of them eat meat.
There are ways to eat a balanced diet without any meat or dairy and be stronger faster and healthier then a meat eater, but don't try it unless you know succesfull healthy people who can guied you.

ok well truth is people eat meat because its the fastest and easiest way to get protein from. So to get really strong and stuff you need all the protein, calcium, ect..you can get, and you can get all these things from a combination of vegies, pasta, and fruit, not to mention soy and tofu!
plus there are diff kinds of vegetarians i for instance am a lactovogegetarian, which means that i eat eggs (ovo) and dairy products (lacto). so all the protein i get comes from mainly milk cheese ect...
the end

vegetarians have lower chances of diebites, cancers, and other health problems. animals have the same right to live as we do, they have feelings( pain, joy, happiness, ect. ). we dont need to eat them. i eat a health bar and take protien pills and stuff to keep that kind of stuff in my system without eating me. "My best year of track competition was the first year i ate a vegan diet." said carl lewis, a nine time olympic gold medalist.
