Angina is a smaller version of heart attack where the pain is felt on account of non supply of sufficient quantity of blood to a region/regions of the heart. It is a pain felt in the heart region which could be medically controlled and with proper life style and food can be easily managed.
Heart attack is with severe pain when a complete region of a heart is totally cut off from blood supply. It requires medical intervention before becoming fatal. This may require surgical intervention like by-pass or insertion of medicated stent.
Cardiac arrest is a fatal heart attack when people not treated with hypertension are met with an accident. The occurance is instantaneous and without a medical attendant nearby, it will be fatal.
Cardiac asthma is a type of asthma but occuring on account of problems in the heart.

ceprn is spot on. i'll try and clarify just a little.

angina = a medical term meaning a lack of oxygen to heart muscle. if the oxygen supply is restored then no permanent damage

heart attack = myocardial infarction = where angina continues to a stage where actual death of heart muscle occurs. this is irreversible and the body fills the dead tissue with scar tissue forever leaving a weakness. this will depend in the amount of dead muscle and where the dead muscle is

cardiac arrest = a condition where the heart stops pumping efficiently. usually meaning VF (ventricular fibrillation) where the main pumping chambers of the heart just quiver and dont do anything useful. but technically there are other types of 'arrests' out there. a large enough heart attack can trigger a cardiac arrest.

cardiac asthma = new term to me but i'm sold by the definition of it being due to fluid in the lungs from the heart not pumping properly; the heart and lungs are closely tied together. if the heart is damaged from previous heart attacks, or if you have another condition that causes it to not pump blood as well, then you will have cardiac asthma. (cardiac asthma is not a common UK term. i assume it is a USA term)

Some people really love to copy and paste !!!

Ischemia, angina, are a decrease in the blood supply to the heart muscle. Maybe a come and go thing or constant.
Heart attacks / myocardial infarction is the actual death of the heart muscle itself. Not all of it, just where ever the blockage occured.

Angina is chest pain or discomfort due poor blood supply to the heart thru coronary arteries(heart arteries).

Heart attack is chest pain moderate to severe due to complete to near total stoppage supply of blood to the heart.

Cardiac arrest is stoppage of the regular rhythm of the heart.

Cardiac asthma is breathlessness due to poor pumping of the heart.

RAVINDREN S answer is close....
Angina is pain in the chest area related to anoxia (lack of or low oxygen). Heart attack is when tissue in the heart dies from the anoxia. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops pumping blood the way it's supposed to. cardiac asthma is wheezing in the lungs related to CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)

Angina is pain associated with decrease blood supply because of narrowing or blockage...Cardiac arrest is just that...your heart is not pumping because you have a major blockage or arrhythmia..cardiac asthma (I have never heard of it)

heart attack is when you lose the blood supply which carries oxygen to a part of your heart.

angina is when there is diminished blood supply to a part of your heart usually goes away with nitroglycerin..

cardiac asthma is a early stage of CHF

cardiac arrest is when the heart stop beating also stops the blood supply from the rest of your body.

ceprn and benny both have excellent responses. if you need more than that look at a tabers medical dictionary, or a merck manual, both readily available on line or in the library.

on the other side of all this is whether or not you have been diagnosed with any of this. if so, then follow you presciptive advice. early treatment for any of those problems usually results in excellent recovery of all activities.
