Nice of you to ask, but my grandma doesn't need anything now, - she's dead. Thanks anyway!

The best gift I ever gave my grandma was when I was in high school. I filled one of those frames that make a collage with photos of my brother and me from when we were babies up until that point. She loved it! Sadly she died a couple of years later but I still have the frame and think of her every time I look at it.

Because most grands are on a fixed income, I would buy her things that she wouldn't buy herself. Put them in a nice basket with some fresh flowers. Suggestions: the more expensive crackers, and cheeses, canned ham, preserves, teas or coffee ( depending on preference), maybe a jar of caviar and some smoked salmon.

Mine was always very happy to get craft supplies, like yarn for her knitting or new fabrics for her quilting. But then, she's from a different era.

Don't know how old your grandmother is, but what about just taking her out for lunch one day and giving her a little locket with your picture in it?

Grandma's love things that come from your heart and that show a part of you. Make something yourself. Bake her something. Paint a picture. A carving. A sculpture of clay. A framed letter. A picture!! They love pictures of their grandkids!! But something that has YOU all over it. She'll love it.

How adventuresome is your grandma?
I bought mine a certificate for a massage. She liked it, or at least said she did!
