the foods at schools aren't realy fatty, but they are disgusting.
if they let let people drink soda, then some kids might bring two
and get overly hiper. Or because some families dont have as much money as others, some kids could get mad that they dont have any. And most soda's have red dies wich, in rare cases, can kill humans. even though the child with the allergy might not have his own, you cant tell me you didn't trade during lunch.

Yeah that doesn't make sense for them to not let you guys drink sodas but they are still going to serve you fatty foods. I thought the idea was to help kids to not be overweight.

That's like someone ordering a alot of large size foods at a fast food restaurant and then ordering water with a lemon.

Maybe you could ask that of your principal.

Well it's not because soda is like junk food it's because it has caffeine in it. Caffeine is known to make children hyper. With soda machines being available in schools the students will take as much as they like which isn't healthy either way and affects concentration on your studies. Thus less caffeine drinks = more educational imput and progress.

your school cafeteria is NOT the kitchen you have at home. the servers and cooks behind that line have to make lunch for up to 1,000 kids every day and they try their hardest to keep it warm (or cold) AND offer you a smile whenever you ungrateful kids come and get your food. most school districts have a nutritionist behind the scenes planning the menus and they have to follow stict guidelines in regards to calories, fat grams, sodium, etc.
if you are having fatty foods then you are probably having more than one serving.
yes, most of the food is disgusting, but we don't have much to work with. we aren't really allowed to add our own spice to the meal unless its an "a la carte" item (extra stuff you pay for).
please give your lunch lady a break, she works hard.
