Genital herpes is most often spread from person to person through sexual contact. Herpes cannot spread through the air like the common cold. Direct skin contact in an environment that contains heat and moisture is necessary for transmission. Genital herpes can be spread in a variety of ways, including vaginal, oral, and anal sex. But, the genital herpes virus can also be present on the skin surrounding the genital area, and skin-to-skin contact in this area can also spread the virus.

It is important to know that, physical symptoms do not have to be present to spread genital herpes to another person. Some people are unaware that they have genital herpes because their symptoms are so mild (eg, bump or rash), and they unknowingly spread the virus to others. You can also be contagious and spread the herpes virus, but not have any signs or symptoms at all. This is called viral shedding. It's important to know that transmission of the herpes virus can occur in heterosexual and homosexual relationships (both men and women).

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.

Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

I got identified with herpes (type 2) about four yrs ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I understand a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/ubY4S everything got better.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system provided the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

I'm sure it's a possibility - he should have washed his hands.. I would have to do some reading on how long the Herpes Virus can live outside the body to answer you 100% accurately though. Even 'fingering' they should be wearing a condom on their fingers!

**Edit: "If I touch someone's herpes, how long will the virus live on my hand, and will I get herpes on my hand?"

The herpes virus cannot live when outside the body--it needs a warm, moist environment such as the mucous membranes or an open cut in the skin to survive. However, one can imagine that the virus could be transmitted through a break in the skin when having contact with body secretions containing the herpes virus. Usually transmission occurs through mucous membrane to mucous membrane contact.

Yes. Herpes can be spread with or with out any open sores from any direct contact. He really should have not done what he did and he definitely should have washed his hands.... but that would not necessarily get rid of the virus. But to answer your question yes he can and probably will.

Probably not. Usually, the skin on our hands is too thick for the virus to penetrate, and the virus dies quickly.

If his skin was broken on his fingers, he could get something called herpetic whitlow, but that still wouldn't make it likely that he gave himself genital herpes a half hour later after fingering you.

its doubtful he would get it on his penis from using the bathroom after that long but still possible, its more probable that he would get herpes zoster on his hands (WORST place to get it)
