It'll be there and create some other problems while it's there. When one partner has chlamydia, they both need to be treated, or they'll keep reinfecting each other. Eventually this can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) in the female, which is very painful, and could include a hospital stay. Best of luck..........

Chlamydia can stay in your body as long as you don't take the antibiotics for curing it. There is a cure for it, go to your OBGYN for the meds. If the person lets it go on for a long period of time, or keeps getting it, then they probably won't be able to concieve.
