Chlamydia is an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). It looks liks you are self treating, and you should see a physician.

Read here for more about the disease:
http://www.cdc.gov/std/Chlamydia/STDFact-Chlamydia.htm

Here is more info about the drug you have been taking, Ciprofloxacin:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a688016.html

Since it is an anti-baterial medicine, and Chlamydia is a bacteria, Chlamydia trachomatis, it could have an effect, and the results you report show that it is, slowly.

Maybe there is a drug that is more effective though, such as azithromycin or doxycycline. Even so, what is the right dosage for you? You should talk to a Doctor. There are many Doctors available at a payment based on your economic situation. Also, a Doctor will keep this matter confidential.

This disease can cause infertility, among other things in both men and women. You should take it seriously, and not try to self-medicate.

According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines, the usual treatment for Chlamydia are: Azithromycin 1 gm single dose OR Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 7 days.

Alternative regimens include: Erythromycin base 500 mg four times a day for 7 days or Erythromycin ethylsuccinate 800 mg four times a day for 7 days or Ofloxacin 300 mg twice a day for 7 days or Levofloxacin 500 mg for 7 days.

While Chalmydia treatment in pregnancy includes Erythromycin base 500 mg four times a day for 7 days OR Amoxicillin 500 mg three times a day for 7 days.

Although Ciprofloxacin and Levofloxacin belongs to the same group which is Fluroquinolones, Ciprofloxacin has no gram- positive bacteria coverage. If you would have to choose a Fluroquinolone, go with Levofloxacin which is recommended by CDC. Also, please consult your doctor because it is not wise to be on a long-course antibiotic therapy unless deemed necessary.

I had chalmydia and the doctor gave a drink. It was a light orange color and was a little grainy. It was really gross and made me sick to my stomach. You should find out if a doctor has the drink avaliable for you. I was treated in the doctors office and was cured in several days. It was inexpensive and a quick fix to the problem. Good luck!
