sex partner? IF both of you are faithful and one of you thinks they have it, i heard you can get it from damp or moist towels or toilet seats, or something damp or moist....could it be something like that or is it DEFINITE that the other is unfaithful?

Actually many of the other answers were quite good but missed the point of your question. A woman could easily have Trichomonas in a faithful, monogamous relationship. It happens quite frequently. The most common reason is that the woman or her partner was ALREADY infected prior to the beginning of the new monogamous relationship. Trichomonas often has little or no symptoms and will occasionally "flare-up" and cause considerable discomfort, leading the woman to seek medical attention. Widows and people who have not had sex in years will suddenly develop symptoms years later.

So it is possible to be in an honest relationship and to be newly diagnosed with this infection. By the way, there is NO test that can determine how long you may have carried the organism.

catching it from something damp means you would have to wipe it between your crotch....most likely one is unfaithfull. Trichomoniasis is most commonly transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. Almost 100% of infections occur through penis-to-vagina intercourse, or vulva-to-vulva intercourse with an infected partner. Women can become infected through contact with both men and women. Men are more likely to contract the infection from women. The vagina is the most common site of infection in women while the urethra (urinary tract) is the most common site of infection in men. Because the trich protozoa can live outside the body for 45 minutes it is possible to contract trichomoniasis if you come into contact with infected towels, bedding, or bathing suits. However, it is very rare to contract the infection in this way

Who told you is?...Trich is spread through sexual intercourse and it has nothing to do about something damp...One of you contracted Trich from another encounter so you must know in your heart who that might be..I see this everyday in my practice..someone always loves to point the finger the other way..you know whether you have been faithful so you know the answer.
