No, there isn't a generic form of Plavix (clopidrogel). But you doctor may be able to help you out with some free samples..... if you ask. Most pharmaceutical companies have programs that can get you coupons or reduced prices on the drug. It is VERY important that you don't stop taking it without letting your doctor know.

No, not yet. Another blood thinner is Coumadin brand, but the generic is Warfarin. Depending on why you're taking Plavix, it may be that another type of blood thinner isn't right for you. Others are Dicumarol (dicumarol), Miradon (anisinidione.) My drug plan doesn't cover these last two, so they probably are expensive brands. Check with your doctor.

The price of Plavix is sky high. I wonder if you really need that particulat anticoagulant. I was on it for a while, until I discovered there was no good reason for it. I know of no generic until the patent runs out.

There is not a generic for Plavix yet, BUT you should be asking your doctors office for their sample packs. Plavix reps. are very generous with them.

Not yet, it has not been out long enough for the patent to wear out.
