1. HIV is the Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
2. Like all viruses, it can be TREATED.
3. Like all viruses, it cannot be CURED.
4. HIV is a virus that destroys a person's immune system. Once an individual's immune system has been destroyed, they are susceptible to opportunitistic infections which contribute to a medical diagnosis we call the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or AIDS.
5. Every person who has AIDS has HIV; not every person who has HIV, however, ends up with AIDS, although the vast majority do.
6. Anti-retroviral medications reduce the amount of virus that is present in a person's body and allow the immune system to regenerate itself. Doctor's monitor a person's viral load and T-cell count to see how well someone is responding to treatment.
7. Someone like Magic Johnson STILL has HIV, but has been on medications for so long that his viral load is very low. It does not mean he is cured however, because HIV is incurable. It means he still has the virus, he could still infect someone, and he could still become very ill and die as a result of complications of AIDS.

I do this for a living. When they have found a cure for AIDS, I will not have to do it for a living any more. Until then, do not spread rumours about it. It only means I have to keep working even though it's Friday night! :)

Protect yourself! Condoms! Clean needles! Abstinence if you can! Love your partner and yourself!

they have found a cure for AIDS but the FDA and the government dont want it here cause it will take away from them because of the people that rely on the "cocktails " from the govt

I think they had long time ago but the government doesn't want to give it away cause if you think about it they are going to lose money. If all diseases are cured the government is not going to have ingresses from all those treatments and stuff.

That is not news. Magic Johnson tests negative today. It just takes the right person to BUY themselves a cure.

No, they did not.......They certainly have treatments for HIV/AIDS, but there is no cure. Stop spreading things that are untrue, its dangerous and irresponsible.

i think that's just a conspiracy theory. i.e. the government has the cure for aids but won't release it due to...aliens. or something.

i doubt it's true.

If they did we would not have to hear if from you. It would be all over the papers, all over the news.. you wouldn't be the only one that knew it...

So I don't belive a word of it.
