We are the only species to drink milk from another species on a regular basis, even though our bodies are not made to do that. After a certain age in childhood, our bodies stop producing the chemical that helps us digest our mother's milk. Once we stop producing that, we really don't need milk anymore. Substituting with soy should be fine as long as you are getting your calcium through other things. Not drinking milk will also save those "unhappy" cows. :) Peace!

Soya milk has the nutrients (protein and calcium) like regular milk, but no fat. In China, people eat much more soya and rarely have dairy and have a lot less cancer, when in Britain now 1 in 3 people will get cancer at some point. Humans are the only creatures that use another animal's milk and who have milk as adults. So yes, the soya is more healthy, but like anything don't overdo it.

I am not lactose intolerant, but prefer soya milk to milk. It is healthy for you, its low in fat, has no chemicals and has calcuim in it. But i have heard it can be slightly dangerous as it stop something getting into your body, but i can't remember what. But it is fine and good for you in moderation. And you can get really scrummy soya yoghurts and custard which are lovely. Also rice milk is lovely as well. And my fav is soya or rice milk in a smoothie. Hope thats helped u.

I don't think you should entirely give up on milk. Maybe have a little of both to create a balance. I once heard on the news that if men constantly drink soya milk, they would have a decrease in sperm. So I'm not sure if it could have an influence on the female body. The best is to keep everything balanced rather than leaning on one side.

I am lactose intolerant yet love a bowl of ceriel with cold milk for breakfast. I tried soya "milk" but found that it made made me very, you know, flatulent. Rice or oat "milk" could be better, but they are often sweerend with a lot of sugar. There are some that are sweetened with apple juice though.

DONT DRINK SOYA MILK!!!!
DONT DO IT
We drink far too much of the stuff and the outcome is yet to be found out - people in eastern cultures eat small amounts of it which is what contributes to their good health/better heart health etc but we are shovelling it down us in gallons and we don't know how this is going to affect us.
Drink oat milk instead it tastes better and humans have been eating oats in large quantities for thousands of years.

Silk soy milk has an enhanced in the light blue carton and it is good and contains extra nutrients and Flax oil. You can also use Rice milk . Our bodies do not absorb calcium from animal protein like once believed. This is a dairy hype to sell more hormone laden milk and cheese.

I use Soya instead of Cow's milk because I think it's more healthier. You have to go a bit careful with putting into tea/coffee etc as it dosen't like being put into boiling water.

I tried substituting soy milk for cow's milk and found no difference. Just base it on personal preference for the taste, and if you enjoy it, and are willing to pay the extra buck or two for soy, go for it. If you do go with soy milk, look for the enriched types, as they include many helpful vitamins and minerals and are commonly lower in fat than whole cow's milk. A few brands I recommend are: Tofutti (for their marvelous Tofutti Cuties, soy ice cream sandwiches), Enriched Soy Dream (either Chocolate or Regular), and Light Silk.
