Is this genital herpes? If they have already had sex than there really is nothing she can do about it now.

Was he wearing a condom? Wearing a condom is the safest way to protect herself from getting the virus (other than abstinence of course). Even then, it is still possible for her to get the virus. Herpes doesn't just appear on the penis (which is protected by the condom). Herpes can appear anywhere in the genital area. So even if he wore a condom, just her rubbing genital areas with him can cause her to get the virus because it is spread by skin to skin contact, as well as sex. Also, 70% of people with genital herpes got it from their partners who were not showing any signs or symptoms of it (like sores). It's called "shedding" the virus, when there are no sores present, but you can still get the virus.

I got genital herpes after sleeping with a guy ONE time. He wasn't showing any signs or symptoms, like sores.

Really the only thing she can do now is wait and see if she has her initial breakout. This usually happens 2-20 days after being infected with the virus. If she did get herpes then she will develop large blister like sores, these sores can open and puss a clear liquid. She will also be in A LOT of pain. I was in so much pain for my initial breakout my doctor prescribed me a painkiller.

If she doesn't develop the sores after about a month, then she should probably get a blood test done. These can be really inaccurate though, and provide a negative result when in fact the person does have the virus. Usually genital herpes is diagnosed with a physical exam and sometimes a pap smear depending on the women's medical history.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

She may have already contracted herpes, even if he wasn't showing any symptoms. If she intends to stay with this guy, she absolutely should not engage in any sexual activity with him unless he's wearing a condom (and she needs to know that there is always a risk that she can get herpes, even if she hasn't already contracted it and even if her boyfriend wears a condom every time they have sex from now on). Personally, I think it's very bad form for this guy to have told her after the fact, so if she were my friend I'd tell her to kick him to the curb. But she's your friend, so that's your call.

Tell your friend that about 45 millions plus American have herpes.. and chances are she already have it without knowing it... and not everyone that has herpes show symptoms.. that does not mean that she should risk it... but your chances of getting herpes is high anyway since 1 out of every 5 american have it,...

if they have not had sex then tell her to use protection before having sex. if they did then tell her to get tested then the decision is really left up to her if she wants to stay with him. I'm sure that he did not want to give her an std on purpose or he would not have told her. 1 in 3 people already have herpes you may have it and not even know it she may have it and not know it and may have had it way before she even met that guy.
