The ammo isn't the problem... The problem is that under federal law they are classed with regular full scale cannons. In other words, build it if you want but don't be surprised when Homeland Security agents smash your door down and cart you off to Gitmo. I'd really be interested in learning how many 'instructional' websites are really feds looking to make a bust. After all, they've admitted to running kiddie porn sites to catch those pervs! Why does anyone think they'd not do the same to catch weapons violations??

Sure -- just search for "spud gun" and you will get all sorts of sites that you can buy them and even directions for making your own.

We have marshmallow guns -- similiar concept but without the propellant. More of a giant spit wad shooter. And with a good puff of air, one can make a mini-marshmallow do some distance.
