Go to your local community center. They have the gym, the pool, and meeting rooms where you can do artsy things and have a party at the same time. It could be a whole day of fun, including swimming, soccer or volleyball, and maybe a fun painting party where you get some pretty perfume bottles and glass paints. Let each friend decorate her own bottle with the glass paints. The beauty of it is that you can adjust the pace of the day and it doesn't matter what the weather is like. If you want to be outside, they have stuff for you to do. If it's cold or raining, they have plenty to do inside. While the painting is going on, you could be playing your favorite music and having fun....and you can have any sized group. If you invite boys, add a project for them while the girls do the perfume bottles, like decorating small wooden boxes for themselves.

have a make-over party!! call your local Avon and Mary Kay reps to be there, and invite the girl's mothers to attend too! Just let the reps know that it's for a 14 year old's party, and they'll bring TONS of samples to try!! And at the end, everyone has the chance to take home some great ideas and treats!!

Also, if you have a regular hair stylist or have one in the family, you can ask if they'd be willing to donate their time to help you and your girlfriends get some great hair styling tips as well!!

Have fun!

do a halloween birthday paryt. I know it is no where close to halloween but that is the fun of it. Have people dress up in custom. and come on over. it is summer time so a life guard and beach bum can be a nice outfit. If that does not work for you.. try doing something different with the food.. Do a theme party like come as your favorite model or pop star. ... let people guess what the other one is.. it will be orignal and something that people will talk about and if they are talking about you then you have it made at 14

Well I'll be 14 soon myself and I think i might be able to help you. Well make some sort of list of a lot of the things that you like to do. For example: pick your favorite movie and base your party around the movie and you have your theme. For my 13th party i had this adorable Hollywood themed party. We made a fake red carpet that led to my house. I told the guests to come as their favorite movie star. I was Marilyn Monroe. Anyway, Get some silver and gold colored balloons and fun decorations. Get these shiny silver and gold stars and with a marker, put each guests name on the stars. PARTY FAVORS OF COURSE! I gave out plastic popcorn holders that i got for a dollar at Target. We played movie star trivia. I took tons of pictures and we made frames. We danced and did make overs and fun stuff. Just use your imagination and it'll be a blast. Good Luck and Happy Early B-day!

Do the at-home spa/makeover thing. Let everyone take turns 'doing' each other. Check www.meetmark.com (teen version of avon) and see if there is a rep in your area - most of them will come to your house and do a party for about 5-6 people w/ samples and all sorts of goodies.

You could update the menu w/ different types of finger food - check out the frozen snack section at wal-mart.

Have fun!

You could rent out a local skating rink... We did that for one of my b-day parties a LONG time ago (I'm 26) and it was a lot of fun! You could even make it a theme night - Disco, 80's, whatever you like. Or we have a place called Frankie's Fun Park - that has video games, bumper cars, putt putt, and tons of other stuff to do. That would be pretty cool too! Good luck :) and Happy Birthday when it comes!

What about a pool party at local facility--tis the season. Have a cook out and lots of friends. Do Karaoke, or just play some fav tunes (have kids bring a CD of their choice to mix it up).
ALSO,
Pass out to the first 5 guests-disposable cameras and let them take pics and give back to you b-4 they leave. GREAT way to capture all the FUN!

On my 14th b-day party, my parents took me and my friends out to a Chinese Restaurant, we had supper, then we went to the movies.. and they let me see something they normally wouldn't let me watch.. then we rented a bunch of movies.. took over the livingroom and stayed up all night having a movie marathon, makeover party. It was lots of fun.
