Wearing those $250 glasses while helping out needy African children, no he doesn't have a right to lecture people about poverty.

Your attitude is negative and can't lead anywhere. He's not lecturing, simply giving his time to a cause. When was the last time you did something for someone? And does it really seem like he has to give away his money to be able to do something worthwhile? People who criticize those who act based on the fact that they have a career and hard earned money are simply jealous and make me have less and less faith on this idiotic human race I unfortunately happen to be a part of. I think you people who'd like to shut up Bono, should shut up and that's it - no one's interested in more negativity than there already is.

Depends on what you mean by lecture.

However, I do believe he is creating awareness about the poverty problem and does have the right to do so. Contrary to what someone had said, him being a popular singer has benefits, such as the ability to reach a wider amount of people; it is not always about singing.

Kudos to him for despite his fame, he has not forgotten about problems the world face, and he is doing something about it.

Bono is one of those classic heroes that we all respect... and if we won't listen to a hero raise awareness about an issue in society that is not going to go away but only simply get worse and dehabilitate millions more people world-wide ----- Then WHO will we listen to????????

Bono means well. He's trying to use his influence to make the world a better place ... like Gandhi, Einstein, Schweitzer ... yeah, I'd say he's got a right.

he has no more or less right to lecture us than ted nugent has a right to lecture us about patriotism and defending our country...well, maybe ted was a bad example, since bono has actually done something to help others, and 'uncle ted' showed his true colors when he had the chance to put HIS butt on the line, and ran like a scalded dog...

He uses his celebrity to raise awareness. That's worth more than any donation. I respect him a lot for what he does.

He has seen more that most of us, so I think so. He does plenty to give to others and he is free to live as he sees fit. We are not here to judge.
