yes actually. as you cannot define a particular emotion as it varies from person to person. you cannot tell whether it is actually you are happy or it is an outcome of a cocktail of emotions. what can be happiness for one might be repulsive to another . for example eating meat can give satisfaction and happiness to one ,which in turn might be equally repulsive to another person who is a vegetarian. so it depends on how you are programmed to interpret a situation or a similar feeling.after all its all in the mind

Most definitely. You can DECIDE to be happy, no matter your circumstances.
I can be a difficult mindset to maintain under certain circumstances, but it is definitely a mindset.

Yes ..it's a state of mind...Only created to clear the pain &^ sorrow all living morals have....
Happiness in itself is nothing..it's mere existence is because of the presence of sorrow & pain.It is like a hallicunation....we tend to find happiness in small things to avoid bigger problems n suffering.
"Remember- The first verse of Buddhism is Life is Sorrow"...so if ure looking for happiness first u must see n bear pain...it is an illusion to not feel the inevitable suffering!!!!
All Shall Suffer & writhe in this wilderness of Pain on this planet till doomday frees them of their Karma."
Don't Try to Run.........U can;t........

i don't think someone can dictate his mind or in your term 'mindset' on hapiness. i think hapiness is a spontaneous feeling just like anger. it just happens. you can't say to your yourself i'll be happy if i'll have a new car, or a new girlfriend. you just know it's there, it's a feeling, after it' happens only then that you will be aware that your happy.

Absolutely! What you surround yourself with and take in by way of eye or ear becomes who you are
It takes about five years according to psychologists
The more positive things you get into your mind, the happier you become

i don't think we can consciously decide to be happy
however i do think what we can control is our coping mechanisms and adopt more positive ways of thinking that can aid us in having a more happy and content life

yes, certainly. if you dwell on disappointments and what you don't have, you will be depressed, but if you choose to focus on all the good you have (and there is plenty when you start counting your blessings) that you will find even with the disappointments there is no reason to be down.
