you count about one drink per adult per hour - plus of course all the non-alcoholic drinks. So, first, you need to figure out how long your party will last! obviously a quick party at lunch time will require much less than a party from 6 until 3 am!!!

lets say that you plan a 4 hours party (8pm until midnite) for 200 persons. This means 400 drinks to cover.
if you offer only beer, a keg contains 15 1/2 gallons (verify, there are different sizes on the market), about 150 drinks. with 2 kegs, you almost cover it, as you get to 300 drinks - you add some bottles of wine (one bottle is 7 drinks, you will need about 12 to 15 bottles)....

Of course, if you plan for longer party you will need more. You will also need a car-key master, who will not let people drive home drunk.

I, personally, would stick with the kegs. It gets a little bit expensive going with liquor. Remember 1 keg is 7 1/2 cases of beer. Alot of people dont drink alot of beer. Unless, the couple getting married have alot of younger guests, lol

That depends on how many people you expect, how long you will serve beverages, and what you plan to serve. (See link below for details and to fill in the blanks for an estimate!!)

The first questions are about your expected guests.

Next, we ask you about the length of time you expect to be offering drinks to your guests.

Then, we ask you to indicate the choices you will have available to your guests.

The calculator assumes the following:
1. Drinkers will have 1 drink per hour.
2. Non-Drinkers will abstain.
3. Light drinkers will have only 1 drink.
4. Approx. 60 glasses of wine per case.
5. Approx. 20 liquor servings in a liter.
6. There are 84 champagne toasts in a case of 12 bottles. However, please note that some cases of champagne contain 15 bottles.

Best wishes!
And remember to remind guests about someone being a designated driver...

Get a company (can be a restaurant) to cater the bar for you; usually they provide staff, drinks, glasses, the bar set up. No mess either.

Don't even start. Why do you want to see drunk people anyway?
