Mp3 can b used only 2 listen 2 songs but in Mp4 u can even see the songs. So thats the difference!

The first difference is that its a higher version from Ver.3 to Ver.4


And the second difference is that the full form is Media Player 3 and Media Player 4 which has a very high quality in playing musics and sometimes videos...

mp3 is for audio mp4 is for video ... mp4 also called as AVI

I'm guessing that it is just a newer version, like when we do messengers then they want you to keep updating to the newer version etc. Otherwise it might be longer music...
