I've searched on "flash memory file recovery" and found Smart Recovery (freeware) as the first hit. You can try using the software found at http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/smartrecovery.html.
Most of the times the file will still be recoverable if you haven't taken any new pictures since you deleted the pic you want to recover.
Access the flash memory card directly from your computer and try the linked software or another one on the google search.
So, yes, it's possible.

it maybe if you use an external card like SD and MMC. Some disk recovery software may be able to get the chunks out on them, but the process is either too expensive, or difficult.
Suggestion:
Buy an external hard drive exclusively for your media like music, video and pictures... buy a card reader for you cameras storage card... back it up everytime you plan to delete pictures. That would save you a lot of trouble in the future....

Some cameras allow you to undo your delete before you switch it off, mine does. It'll be in the menu somewhere. If you've switched it off though since deleting them then I'm sorry, they've gone to the golden world of digi heaven!!!!!

im really bad with technology and the first time this happened to me i cried! iv learnt to deal with it but seriously i have tried everything to get images back...tragic really but. yeah there gone...
