Hey Bard

Well i believe in God and my ideas are definitely not those of my religion (Catholicism) I have many gay friends, believe in contraception and women rights! I don't think sex is sinful either, that is ... in the right context, not a drunken night stand and not because it is deemed sinful but dangerous for the woman!

I go to mass once or twice the month, and the Priest has long come to know and accept that!!! My ideas are not exactly kosher when it comes to my religion if!!! He can accept i am the way i am because, and according to him, God sees us, not only for our sins, but the good we do as well! You know a balance!

Some people would go crazy at what i'm saying here, probably at my Priest, if not my religion as well but!!! I do belive that we are all God's children and he is broad minded enough when he gave us free will and if that means that our beliefs and values do not go accordingly to teachings (Made by men not God) then so what!

Best wishes

You have the right to believe whatever you want. As long as you do not harm anybody, you can believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and you will not be 'wrong' in any meaningful sense of the word.

I would say that you're further on your journey to the truth than most of the world is. Good luck wherever it takes you.

Please note - believing in the Bible and/or being homophobic or sex-phobic is by _no_ means whatsoever a requirement for believing in God. Believing in God is just that - a no-strings-attached belief. Everything esle is up to you. Anybody who tries to tell you differently is only speculating and can be ignored.

Beliving in God means that you belive in His teachings also..
Not that he just protects me and i do as i wish ...
God is never against Sex... You marry in Church ..Why ??
Marriage is institution proposed in Religion.. Athiesm has nothing to do with marraige.. So why do you think God is opposed to Sex ??
Marriage means Sex will be there.. But God does not Allow Illicit Sex or Wrong use of Sex potency.. Sex is for Procreation and Procreation is not wrong.. but you have to take up responsiblity of the Child not simply enjoy sex and kill the child ...
Thats what is Gods concern.. When he creates he suggests how best it can be used.. and what is misuse.. if you dont accept then you are the looser ..not God..
Dont Cry later than , ""oh! God why did this happen to me - I believe in you "

No, it's not wrong. You ought always be honest in what you are thinking and feeling, especially with God. The real question is, though you feel differently, do you believe the Scriptures are the revealed will of God, and do you believe that God understands best how the world he created should run?

i too see no problem with gay relationships, but i realize that it is not for me to determine what is best for society. There are some things i don't understand, but if i believe that God has spoken clearly on the topic, then i choose to believe that he knows more than i do about his creation and how it ought to work.

ok.... why then do you want to believe in God ? Ask God to show you the answers as to why sin is sin ,why He hates sin,as he tells EVERYONE to hate sin(not just Christians),do you think murder is wrong? stealing ? lying ? disrespecting your parents is wrong? worshiping a tree, statute, false prophet or a rock is not a bit odd ?? These are all sins.....sin is your actions against God's ways.Sin also hurts other people, right? Do you think hurting others is wrong ?
All laws in every country are based on the 10 Commandments...order for a society over total chaos...
When you come to know who God really is,and how much He loves you and blesses you,,,you Will find His ways not suppressive, but freedom from all the bondage that the guilt of sins oppresses you with...
sex is not a sin when it's with your spouse....there is more to it than just a physical connection,it is also a spiritual connection, many kids with only one parent as the other was a one night stand, sexual diseases are rampant with many dying slow painful deaths from it.....that is why it's called a "sin against your body". Sex is also to reproduce ....you can't do that with someone of the same sex...God made Adam & Eve,not Adam & Steve....
I will add you to my prayers..ask God to show you the answers and His ways as being a good life to have...

You are not wrong, although some people will tell you that you are. You have the capacity to think for yourself and think logically, that is why you think those things. Those who say you are wrong to think that are closed minded. You either believe in God or you don't (or not sure!) but either way you can not force yourself to believe in anything.
As for the sex thing, there are so many arguments there, like that married people can have stds as well and married people also murder their unborn babies, etc, etc. I think the "sex before marriage" argument is an outdated belief.

Nothing is wrong or right. It's ok, ur mind is a collection of thoughts, experiences, all past and that is from where u judge. Judgement leads to right and wrong. Can u search for the reason, the root cause as to why they r gay. It will help u to accept them and love them, not be them. And believing god is believing god, unconditionally.

God lives you despite what you believe about God. Why don't you believe God? And by faith ask him about what your stand should be about various issues?

By the way, God is NOT against gay people. It's the sin of homosexuality that He abhors. Also sex is not sinful, whether it is a sin or not is to be judged by the circumstances.

Believing in God has nothing to do with the restrictive religious beliefs of all the man-organized forms of worship around the world. You can be a spiritual person without all that dead weight.

Try looking at different branches of Christianity. Become agnostic. Look in to other religions like Buddhism, Hinduism, Paganism etc. Any of that help?
