I AM SPIRITUALLY formed by believing in Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I am spiritually growing by my faith in God and by meditating daily on His words.
How about you?

Just keeping my eyes open to what it going on in the world has contributed to my spiritual growth. Listening to my conscience when it's loud enough, remembering to do unto others as I would have them do unto me, keeping my positive karma flowing through deeds, watching the world events in the news. I could go on for hours about the various things that have contributed to my spiritual growth. But really, I think summing it up with just keeping my eyes and ears open is the single more contributing factor. While everything seen and heard might not be good, or even what you want to see and hear, I firmly believe that if you ignore what is going on around you, both near and far, you stop growing as a person, which also includes growing spiritually. But that's just my opinion.

Being brought up in a loving family with emphasis placed on caring for each other and on rational thought - that was probably the biggest influence on me.
Oh yes, and the 'first cause' argument as expoused in an answer above is a nonsense - If you believe that something as mundane as a living organism cannot exist without a designer then how can you possibly claim that an entity capable of designing and creating an entire universe can exist without a designer. It's absurd. Of course no creator exists - We're the products of a natural, unthinking, godless universe.

Chanting Hare Krishna or Gods name, hearing about Krishna or God,
this are the 2 most basic things...
BTW .. Bhagavad Gita says that a person is not spiritually formed !! Spirit is Eternal and does not experience formation.. our Original state is fully realized Spirit Soul, always full of knowledge, eternity and Bliss...
But currently we are covered with dirt, and Spiritual practices just helps us revive our original State.. just like water in original state means pure and clear.. but dirty water in the drain does not appear like that.. but the state is still there .. just needs cleaning :)

Hello, I am Mehmed Emin YILDIZ from Türkiye.
Yesterday, by the yahoo's question pages, I asked a question or dictated that I can prove existance of Allah giving logical and scientifical examples. And you infromed that you are interested in searcinh for Him.
Firstly I thank you so much because of interests abouth Allah.
Here I will give some very easy examples from the normal life. This is my way to explain His existances giving daily events or example that all we know and see in the life. Here are some...
One of the logical examples: If there is something or movement, there must be a "maker" or "First Mover" of that thing.
First example: We are using computer right now. How did that computer exist? Of course, some engineers studied, calculated, designed and finally programmed that computer, right. If this is the real, logical and scientific way, can anybody say that, that computer was made by causes and effects or by itself? Or, is it possible to say that a computer can be produced "without" any engineer or programmer?
Second example: We are living in a house, flat or in a building, right. Is it possible for our houses or flats to be existed without any civil engineer or architect or workers? We can add more examples like above. As a result, every existeces must have their creator. So, we are looking at the outside, we see that the atoms, nature, world, plants, animals, seas, mountains, air, light, rain, snow, sky, humanbeings, Moon, Sun, planets, galaxies, etc... whole universe exist!. Those are saying by their own language, logically, scientifically: "If there is something, something exists", there must be a "EXISTOR of those thing". As we see, understand and accept that, there have to be only One Creator of everything meaning whole universe from atoms to the galaxies, who is Only One Allah!...
These are logical examples, If there is some non-understandable points, please dondt hesitate to ask. If you need more example, we can talk in yahoo messenger or in msn messenger: mehmedeminyildiz@hotmail.com , eminmehmed@yahoo.com.
That is all for now.
Best Regardings.

My mother always taught me to really think about how my actions affected other people, and myself, in the long run. That has really contributed to my spirituality....especially after I became Pagan because one of the main rules is what you do comes back to you threefold.
