Pug? St. Bernard?

If you're just looking for something to breed and make money, I would say NONE. NO DOG. NADA.

People who breed dogs -- any dogs -- CORRECTLY do not make any money. By CORRECTLY I mean proving their dogs worthy of breeding FIRST by showing or working them and obtaining titles on them, SECOND doing all of the genetic testing required for the breed, THIRD providing the best possible care for the b*tch and the puppies, FOURTH properly screening the homes their puppies go to, and FIFTH being willing to take back any puppy, at any age, if those people can no longer keep the dog.

Do you know what kind of genetic problems St. Bernards have? Are you willing to work to eliminate them from your dogs' bloodlines? Hip Dysplasia is a huge problem in the breed. Are you willing to guarantee your puppies free of this problem, and make good on your guarantee if one of them is diagnosed?

Pugs also have their share of problems. Will you screen for them? Or will you become one of the legion of uneducated, ignorant backyard breeders who sell genetically crippled puppies without a thought beyond the money in your hands?

If you are seriously interested in breeding dogs, please read through the information at these links:

Also remember that 25% of the dogs euthanized in shelters every year are purebred, and that hundreds of thousands more purebreds sit in rescue groups and foster homes across the country waiting for someone to adopt them.

PLEASE DO NOT ADD TO THIS PROBLEM IN THE NAME OF FINANCIAL GAIN.

The only time I've ever truely interacted with a St. Bernard was at the America family pet expo, they sweet dogs but the only problem is they so big! Pugs on the other hand are small dogs but they can be friendly little dogs.

If you plan to get a dog do all your research on St. Bernards and Pugs and find out which one suits your life style best.

St Bernard's are cuter if you have the room but make sure you know what you are getting into before you look at breeding you cant keep all the ones that don't come out 100% also check to see if there are any laws in your area about breeding dogs.

i would say pugs.. but you should check into the prices that you would get for this kind of dog and if very many people would be interested in buying the babies...there is so many dogs being born now adays you really need to see if the market is good for the kind of dog you decide to breed...i know i have seen in the paper and you can get good money for some dogs..i know you get more money if they are registered dogs...i hope this has helped you.. you do not want to breed dogs that you can not sale because they would end up on the streets or in the animal shelter.....advertize the dog you think will bring the most money, after they are born...

St. Bernards are wonderful good-looking dogs but their maintenance costs a lot and they cannot live in hot climates. Perhaps a pug would be more reasonable.

Don't breed any dogs. If you want a dog, get one from an animal shelter. There are too many dogs without homes for people to be breeding them.

None, unless you want to contribute to the 30 million put to sleep every year. Sounds like you are just looking for a money making dog.

I'd say a Cocker Spaniel or a Golden Retrever.

chinese sharpei or Black Labs. they are so cute and cuddly and very well behaved dogs that can be shown and with papers can make a great amount of money as long as they are registered with the AKC.
