How about vouchers for Habitat - if they are setting up home together they would come in very useful! We usually spend about £50 on wedding gifts for close friends, and about £30 for more 'distant' friends.

Depends how well you know her but i would go for big store vouchers (John Lewis/Debenhams/House of Fraser) and spend about £50. you could always get a small token gift too like a horse shoe or bride/groom champagne glasses.

You should check the couple's registry. You can get a gift from that. If the don't have a registry try buying a gift certificate at a home type store like bed bath and beyond where the couple can pick out the gift together for their new place.

I have made wedding gifts before and lack of money is not a problem.
You can find out what song they will have at their wedding and use your PC to print it out in a fancy font, frame it in a nice matted frame, and give it to them as a life long remembrance of their wedding song.
Find a lovely poem and do the same, but include where and when they were married.

Well, if the couple has a wedding registry somewhere, you should get them something off of that. I don't know what your budget is, but Bed Bath & Beyond has very nice wedding presents. A beatiful picture frame or album for the wedding photos always makes a nice gift. Or you could just give them cash, that is always a welcome gift.
