Alot of men are yes. I myself love my car, I'm always tinkering with it and adding things on........its not sad at all, as some suggest, think of it as a hobby. It becomes sad when it takes over peoples lives, some become so obsessive that they become depressed when they see a scratch etc

First there's a pretence, is it a ricer or an old school hot rod? If it's rice, then he's likely gay, so forget him anyway. If it's a hot rod than It's a bond that cannot be broken, the sound, the power, the style, the attention it recieves is something that is hard to beat. But it may be genetic, hell I've been car crazy for as long as I can remeber. I eat, breath, sleep horsepower, two wheels or four. And it's common among straight men. My girlfriend was only slightly intrested in cars when we met and now she does bodywork, engines, just about everything and has a project car of her own ('64 Galaxie). and needless to say, I'm the envy of my friends because she's hot too. And best of all we have plenty of other interests and hobbies. So either give it a chance or find a guy that's got not into it. I think they're boring but they're out there.

Depends on the car and the age of your fella I prefer bikes so unless somebody has a very special car something along the lines of 1970 Road-Runner Super bird or something of a similar type of car with a very large and rude V8 motor I have no interest in any modern car with fluo lights under the door sills and dustbin sized exhaust ends or turbo pop off valves if that is what they are called ! {showing my age there} but I am not afraid 2 say that having a car that has every rice burner tuning firms sticker means nothing to me when I know in the real world of traffic light drag racing a sticker just adds extra weight and there is no replacement for a large rear tyre footprint and a big V 8 no matter what you may have seen in the movies sure some rice burners are quick but you have too put a sum of money into it equalling the national debt of most country's then hope it holds together when you miss a gear and the valves say hi to the top of the piston bye bye engine wheres me credit card ?some blokes go on about soccer some about cars and of course women do not talk about clothes , shoes , handbags and celebs do they ? we all have our interests in life don,t we ? so no we are not all the same

A car has a quality about it that is hard to explain and depending on the make of car a real appeal that is undeniable. Never get between a man and his car. If the choice was car or woman... car is gone in a half-hearted heart beat. Women can be the same about their cars, have seen it first hand.

Sad story you've got there. I pity you.
As a car afficiando myself, I usually don't talk about cars until I meet with someone who shares the same passion as I do. Otherwise, it would be compromising for both parties where one talks and the other doesn't seem to make sense of what I've been saying.
Perhaps a little more communication on your part to him might clear up some air here? He might have mistaken you to be a fellow motorhead, you know.

No I don't. My friend does and drives me crazy alot. I work on cars all the time worked a Ford dealer for over 10 yrs. I don't want to talk about them when I get home. I feel I have paid my dues. Some people think that cars are all it.

Nope. Some people are just into certain things more than others. I could care less about the car I drive; if it gets me from A to B I'm good. But I do have an obsession; technology. I am very talkative about that. So, as I said; everyone has their "thing".

Sadly not Mrs Pollard. Perhaps you should look at the underlying reasons for him talking about his car all the time. Is it more interesting than you? Is it sexier than you? Does he spend more money on his car than he does on you?
If the answer to one or all of these questions is yes then I'd suggest you getting a respray, new 'bumpers' and a bigger exhaust !!
