The ash of a deceased person; inhaled would be considered cannibalism? Or not?
Just out of pure curiousity after seeing a vile of some ash. It may or may not have been that of an actual human.
And would it actually be considered a sin? Since it's not consuming, yet inhaling.

Probably. But I don't think there's anything wrong with that. A bit odd, maybe, but who am I to judge? At the end of the day, the deceased won't mind - being dead and all...

What would possess you to ask a question like that? Are you going to be a mortician. Do you live near an incinerator. Who keeps a vile of ash unless it is a loved human or pet. If you sniff ashes don't you think it would be followed by a little puking? I don't think it is cannibalism it would be a very strange accident (dropped vile) or a extremely sick person.

cannibalism involves eating human flesh (assuming the diner is also human)...so sniffing ash technically doesn't qualify, but i think any conscious violation of a body or the remains of a body could be considered a sin. leave the ash alone.

Is inhaling ash considered consumption? While it may end up in your stomach, being that you are not getting nourished, are you eating? Besides...most of the ash would go in and out of your lungs. So do dead people ashes cause lung cancer? :-P

i dont think so, cannibalism is an act of consuming human body parts, you may inhale it but it is not a form of cannibalism. it is a sin if you purposely inhale it.

No. Ash from a dead person is no longer human any more than ashes from a log is human.

no i wouldn't consider that cannibalism unless you did it on purpose with the intent of eating the ash. besides, that's disgusting, why would you want to that? yes it's a sin if you do it on purpose.

If it is done intentionally, it could technically be considered ritual cannibalism; you are not eating someone of your own species, per se, but you are ingesting another person.
