There are over 10,000 named saints and beati from history, the Roman Martyology and Orthodox sources, but no definitive "head count".

Any Saint is worthy of veneration and each one is venerated someplace by someone. There are a lot of saints but most people only know a few of them. Being in the Western Church, we do not hear much about the Eastern Saints, but they are also very helpful and shouldn't be ignored.
There are several databases out there with many of the saints in them. The above answerers give good links to some of these databases.
