I'm talking about my ex bf....he lives over 300 miles away and everytime visits me we go out and all. We're friends because of the long distance. This might seem like we are friends with benefits when he is in town. A few days ago, i asked him "where are we now?" , he said that we should remain friends because he does not believe in long distance relationships, and i dont either....He wants to move back though but he is stuck in his job over there , but he wants to find another job at hometown before he moves back. Does this sound promising that we could get back together?

If you feel you have a relationship worth saving and the relationship is being respected by both even though apart, then it may be worth waiting and working towards being together again. You can't be expected to wait forever, but give it a reasonable amount of time. It isn't unlike a relationship with someone in the military who has to be away for long periods. It is a test to the strength of your relationship.

I would quit my job for a woman I love without any second thought. His "job" is more than that. Although you claim the only reason that you two aren;t together is the distance factor, I believe that it's more than that, and until you figure out what it is, I don't see the relationship working.
