It lasts for a few minutes when I'm very relaxed. I could stop it if I get up and walk around. I think it is some kind of physiological thing, not an entity, or Satan, or anything like that.

I was speaking with a psychiatrist about this the other day. Some people, especially during the onset of sleep, experience a kind of 'night terror', wherein they may feel unable to move and may experience mild hallucinations. The story of the 'bogeyman' probably comes from this sensation.

Apparently, the muscles behave differently in sleep and in waking hours. Some people can experience a phenomenon where their mind is awake, yet their muscles still function as if they are asleep (i.e. are inactive). They also often experience pressure on their chest and/or a feeling of difficulty breathing. This is similar.

It's harmless. Either it happens to you or it doesn't. Next time it happens, remember that it's a perfectly natural physical condition, is caused by your own body, is nothing to fear and will pass.

Good luck. I've never experienced it personally.

I experience a force taking over my body when I am in heightened sexual awareness. Otherwise only drugs have been able to do that. Although, sometimes when falling asleep it feels as though something is taking over and I have no control over my mind or motor functions. I guess that is a force in itself. May the force be with you...

Yes, and it was most certainly evil.

The New Age movement would have you believe that you can "step outside yourself" through relaxation techniques and "spirit guides" but you are dancing with the devil.

When you are nonresistant to the world around you, your own inner circuitry links up with other around you. It's pretty cool, eh? Practice nonresistent to events and unconditional love and thinking and it'll happen more. Enjoy!

Its not satan, its called relaxation. Don't fear it, unless you are hearing voices and they are telling you what to do.
PS wear some garlic around your neck incase its a vampire.

Yes. Jesus took over my body, my mind, my heart, and my soul, the day He saved me. Knowing Him, is a wonderful feeling.
