If some cows should put themselves in a situation where their product value decreases, then no you shouldn't have to but the milk. However, there are some cows who milk is reserved only to the best buyers

oh my gosh that is totally what my mom used to say. and i understand what you mean by the whole cow-milk thing. I say if you are getting the sex free then you should at least get a chance to know her better
ps= and its " why should you buy the cows when the milk is for free " not the other way around

If you are asking this literally- it takes more money to keep the cow. You need lots of barn space and you need to take good care of the cow and buy food for it and squeeze the milk out and pasteurize it and all that! So just go to the grocery store.

Because the milk I pay for is quality controled, requires no effort (guaranteed thing), inspected regularly, and I know my money goes to support the farmer...and his cows...

cows are expensive to feed, house, and milk must be pasteurized.
