There have been studies and scientific proof that doing savasana (corpse pose) everyday following your asana practice (poses) will lower your blood pressure.
Meditating will definitely help heart disease, but other factors such as diet, exercise and lifestyle habits (e.g. smoking, drinking alcohol) also affect your health.
The benefits of meditation will affect your entire being--physically, mentally and emotionally. Although meditation alone wont cure heart disease, it will definitely help in the healing process.

yoga is an union of mind, body & soul... it contains 8 steps... the 8 fold path: 1. Yama - moral disciplines 2. Niyama - the path of self-restraint 3. Asana - physical postures (commonly only asans are refered to as yoga) 4. Pranayama - controlled breathing 5. Pratyahara - focus toward inwards 6. Dharana - step focussing on concentration 7. Dhyana - meditation 8. Samadhi - the final stage / nirvana Thus the asans & meditation are both a part of uniting the body and soul with the universal energy! In case you are more interested you search for sites that deal with yoga... there are loads of information on the web & if you in mumbai you could visit the yoga institute in santacruz they have a library

yoga really help but it doesn't mean that yoga can cure heart disease. It helps in a way that you would be relax, feel at ease. It also improve your mind state and also your circulation. But of course if you are a patient who have heart disease, you should consult your doctor first before trying any exercises because it my help or make your condition even worst.

I doubt it, since heart disease is due to lack of elasticity of the arteries, if you don't have it yet, then maybe excercise and eating healthy can help but not get rid of it after you already have it.
