Some of us are graduates and we choose to stay home to educate our children. But when you walk on the streets with our kid, other career women or men look at us as if we are some dirt with no brains.

I do not understand why anyone would think a housewife is stupid. Housewives are looked down upon for no reason. Women themselves have influenced this by attaining power for themselves. Some think that it is degrading. I do not believe so. I respect any woman that would be a housewife. That is not to say that a career-woman is wrong. I respect any woman with a job as well. But it takes a lot of work, dedication, love, and guts to be a housewife. In my opinion, they do more in the home than in any possible job. I say that women should not look down on housewives. They help with the kids, the husband should appreciate his wife, and the wife should appreciate the work her husband does to support the home. I guess I'm just old fashioned. It would be nice for more old fashioned girls to be around as well.

Housewives began getting a bad reputation long ago... because of some housewives, who (all they did was)>>> sat around on their lazy bottoms, eating bon-bons, watching TV, reading true confession books, letting the kids run wild, burning the beans (if the hubby was fortunate enough to even get that), etc., etc.
It also caused all housewives to have the reputation of being too ignorant to do anything that's worthwhile (wise, intelligent).
Now all housewives are stereotyped as stupid, because of the behavior of a few.
I guess some people figure that if women who are housewives were smart, they'd be out there making millions.
When they look at you that way again... ask them how many millions they've made.

Female, feminist, housewife. I don't see how me staying home and raising a family takes me out of society. I still am a valuable member of society, I still learn things, and I'm still growing as a person. Just because I've never say, worked in a restaurant, doesn't mean I don't understand the work that goes into it and am therefore a rude and demanding customer. Most people don't know how to do most jobs. An auto mechanic may have never cut hair, but that doesn't make the auto mechanic an immature person. Right? I do think that what your dad said was sexist. And I don't think he could handle for one day the amount of work it takes to be a housewife.

Because they would like to be in your position and have family and people who really - care- for them.Housewives should be payed for their "job" because is full time!And all housewives should be proud because they choose to stay at home and raise their kids.

because they're stupid themselves to be having such a view...lol.
dont be so sensative, only you know the truth and you're forever precious to the family. get them to do a housewife's job! dont think they can!
most probably they're still backdated, living in the past and comparing of those of yester years. but even so, there're no cause for such views. another view is that they've not met any housewife as educated, modern and as thinking as you. you got to change their thinking.
to them home making maybe easy and routines but little do they know the indept skill, patience and tolerance that goes into it! its all hard physical and mental work in home making.
career women never touch mops in their life...men taking a beautifully kept home, warm dinners on the table, kids and their school work well taken care of and all for granted!
wait till they become house husbands and house wives!
rest assured, housewives of whoever and wherever, you're never taken for granted of and are being appreciated of.

Because they don't know the value of house wife. She is the main cause of success of any family. A family cannot rise without housewives dedication and sacrifice.

If you are going out, who will take care of the house? Who is going to train the kids in a way that they will be useful for the society. You have to do all this. So do not bother about others. You have to just follow what your heart says, not the mind.

I don't know why that is. If i ever have kids, which i plan to, it will be after i have a nice career established. I do however plan to take a few years of to raise my children. I think it is so rude to stereotype people like that. Drives me crazy!

Because it looks like you do nothing all day but run a house and some kids! If you dont understand how hard it is to do those two things then you look at it like its a piece of cake! IT"S NOT! I really respect a housewife! TRUST ME PEOPLE, IT IS NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK! Good job babe!
