I am Armenian, and we are predominantly Christian. I believe in God but don't feel drawn to any specific religion. I think I'm Agnostic, meaning I believe in God but don't belong to any specific denomination. Does anyone have any unbiased views on this? What should I do to grow closer to a religion, or should I remain Agnostic? I am a 16 and still young, so take this into consideration.

being agnostic means you don't know if there is a God. Not being drawn to any denomination is fine in my opinion you would probable belong to a non-denominational church. If you really want to be part of a specific denomination you should try a different church every week (i.e. Baptist first, Presbyterian second etc.) and talk to the leaders of the church.

No one has an unbiased view on anything, ever. It is humanly impossible.

An agnostic, by definition, is a person that believes that it is impossible to know whether or not there is a god.

What you are describing yourself as is more of a Deist, or spiritual.

I recommend reading the book "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" by Julian Jaynes to get some background perspective on religious thought and the human mind.

I also suggest that you try to take a 'comparative religions' class...or if that isn't an option...do your own reading research on all of the major religions and such non-religions as Buddhism.

I particularly recommend Zen Buddhism. Though I do not personally subscribe to some of its ideals, I found that learning about the practice of Zen Buddhism offers great insight into the limits of human knowledge...and religious insight.

an unbiased view huh good luck I'll try but it might be tough as uh you may haave noticed from most of the other answers

Since you ask the question what should I do to grow closer to a religion I would guess that you've already decided not to sit on the fence for much longer on the question and that you want or feel the need to be associated with a church so it becomes a matter of finding a form of religion you feel you connect with which you can only find by searching going to different denominations and churches to find one that's right for you because not all churches within a certain denomination are the same.

Sorry if this isn't helpful my perspective is coming from an extreme dislike of going to church and organised religions in general as well as discomfort with the idea of predetermined destiny whether it's going to paradise or what I'll do with my life.

Agnosticism is the belief that "something is out there", but not necessisarily God or Yahweh, or Allah, or the greek gods for that matter.

Read some books, do some web searches, educate yourself on all the major religions. And lastly, there's nothing wrong with being an agnostic. I've been for years, as have many others I know.

Being agnostic is different than having no denomination. From what you have described you are a non-denominational christian. If you check I am sure you can find a couple churches in your area which will fit.

Agnostic would be accepting the unknown as what can never truly be known.

A logical proof of Existance of Allah.

One of the logical examples: If there is something or movement, there must be a "maker" or "First Mover" of that thing. First example: We are using computer right now. How did that computer exist? Of course, some engineers studied,calculated,designed,pr... and finally programmed that computer, right. If this is the real, logical and scientific way, can anybody say that, that computer was made by causes and effects or by itself?Or, is it possible to say that a computer can be produced without an engineer or programmer?
Second example: We are living in a house, flat or in a building, right. Is it possible for our houses or flats to be existed without any civil engineer or architect or workers? We can add more examples like these. As a result, every existeces must have their creator. So, we are looking at the outside, we see that the world,humanbeings,plants,anima... whole universe exist!. So,logically, there have to be only One Creator of those who is Allah!

As you see, as you see, Islam is a logical religion. if you want, you can contact me to talk deeple on Allah's existance.

All religions are equally misguiding. In some countries it is difficult to be away from religions. But in America, as I understand, it is not a problem at all.

Looking at the creations I cannot deny the existence of a Creator behind it. The best thing as a peculiar creation like human beings can do is accepting that Super Wisdom. Treat all others as our equal co-beings. The Super Wisdom will guide you from within you as He is there in you.

Try to read other religions' books just like Cat Stevens did before converting to Islam. You have given by God a rational mind to used it anyway. If you want a real religion do read each teachings so you can chose which is the rightful one. God Bless

Agnostic?
A (without) gnosis (knowledge)
Agnostics are people without knowledge of God. They are not sure if He exists.

You believe in God therefore you are NOT agnostic.

You don't need to belong to a denomination. Just be a Christian.
There are tons of Christian denominations but you don't need to agree with everything 1 church says.
Believe in God, believe in Jesus, and go to whatever church is closest to your house.
