Why did this occur and why does it seem our government has been hush hush about it

In reply to first answer, I'm not a secret agent, I found out about it from the media, USA TODAY in fact, a media outlet that many kooks would consider part of some conspiracy

It's not anti Bush it's anti Russia so it didn't stay in the news long.

Why wouldn't Russia help? Maybe they had a mutual defence pact (that the US bribed the Russians to ignore?) Maybe they wanted to give the Iraqi's even a little chance....
Maybe the Russians didn't give them intelligence it all, a 6' tall white guy wearing a helmet and kahki's and driving a tank is pretty damned hard to miss in the Middle Eastern Desert.

Your asking the wrong question. The question is why has the media been hush hush about it? You found out didn't you? Why aren't they reporting and what anti-US agenda are they supporting?

People are still scared of Russia. Russia also moved the WMDs. Press dont want to talk about it because it would wreck their agenda.

Maybe because Russia was exporting military equipment to Sadam's government and they just want to make sure Sadam wins so that their business deal would continue.
