No, it gives the general public something to focus. This way the subtle and not so subtle internal policy changes get much less notice, even though more and more of freedoms are being removed in order to "protect" us.

Yup.

I personally watched (via live video feed) the top Al Quaeda bomb expert die in Iraq. He even stepped outside and looked right up at the camera a few seconds before the bomb hit.

One of those victories the news media did not bother to tell you about.

There are many who would say that the U.S. attack of Iraq has had the net effect of increasing the likelihood of another attack on the U.S. mainland. Certainly it has increased the international dislike of Americans in general.

the war in Iraq was a chance for al-qaeda who was repelled from home afghanistan. war is not over. so al-qaeda seems the only winner in ıraq now.
