I'd really like to take my mom there, who wants to try middle eastern food, but I can't find any reviews on this restaurant on the interent, any reviews by anyone will be greatly appreciated!! I need to know: Does it get crowded on weekends? Is it popular in philly? Good food? THANK YOU!!

Oh yes, and i would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if this place has its own parking (you know how crowded philly's streets are) and if you would recommend it, and if you enjoyed your experience there. Thank you again!

If you're talking about the Casablanca on Haverford Avenue, yes, it's a terrific place. It can definitely get crowded on the weekends, but in my experience, the more crowded it is, the more fun it is, because everyone gets into the belly dancing and spectacle of it all. It is in a strip mall, but the interior is beautifully decorated, so you'll forget its location as soon as you step through the doors. Plus strip mall = free parking!
The food was quite delicious; my favorite was the cinnamon chicken dish -- it's much better than that sounds.
Overally it's a great experience, and I think your mom would love it. Just be prepared to a) eat a TON of food and b) be there for a while, because the dinner is presented at a leisurely pace. But when you're reclining on pillows and watching a bellydancer balance a sword on her head, who cares? :)

Been to the Casablanca in Warrington, PA (north of Philly, past Willow Grove). It is very good. Take her on Friday or Saturday when they have belly dancers (sometimes they have male and female dancers). I always had a great time and some excellent food. Put aside a few hours because their dinner has 8 courses. Always a good crowd. Last time I went, it was fixed price at $25/person.
In Cherry Hill on Rt 73, there's a place called Couscous. It's similar to Casablanca. They also have belly dancers but I don't know their schedule. They have an ala carte menu and also the fixed price meal. I also had a great time there and a very good meal.
Both places get crowded. If you can round up a few friends to come along, it makes for more fun.
BYOB for both places.

I have been to this restaurant twice. It actually is not Philadelphia, but right on the outskirts, along the main line. I have only been there on weeknights, but I can tell you about the food and ambience. The food is out of this world delicious - it is insanely good, and a bargain at $22 for a full seven-course meal. The appetizers are best. The decoration is beautiful and belly dancers entertain on most occasions. They have a full bar, and it's in a strip mall, so there is parking. Don't let the strip mall deter you - once you're inside you are in a different, magical world.

Sometimes you have to see for yourself. Go before you take your mother.
