I think the gravity of the situation has been lost here. This question focuses on only one country attempting to aquire nuclear power.
All too conveniently the public appears to have forgotten the recent collapse of the Soviet Union and the large number of countries formed after it happened- each with a separate grudge and each with a different agenda. Do you think that the weapons possessed by the Soviet Union magically disappeared during the collapse?
Forgotten too, appears to be the conflict between India and Pakistan. These countries went to great length and considerable expense to hide their development of nuclear weapons and then detonated them, days apart.
North Korea is now testing missiles, Iran is attempting to build a POWER STATION. There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that Iran is using their technology to build weapons.
What's more, the United States is the only country in the world with a history of using them against another country.
The United States is the country invading other countries right now, the United States is the country that first decided to break the nuclear nonproliferation treaty. Conveniently forget that one too? President Bush announced it on national news.
That doesn't excuse the actions of other countries but it doesn't make us look good either. The United States appears to be the aggressor here and it disturbs me that popular opinion seems to hold that the United States is the only country on earth who has the right to possess and test nuclear weapons.
As intimidated as you may feel and as righteous as you think your anger is, think about how the rest of the International community feels and how intimidated they are. Put yourself in their shoes and tell me you wouldn't be doing the same thing.

No.
For two reasons - since nobody will come to the side of Iran - the cannot become a 'world war.'
And - more importantly - we can achieve our strategic aims regarding Iran without an invasion.

this would not cause a world war. but would damage seriously bpth us and iran. and would create a new international system. the war would not be international but its results would.
