Does it seem that we Americans dress too casual? I'm all for comfort, but isnt wearing pajamas to the movies a little too far? Or shorts to the office a bit much?

Well, I do like pajamas, but I try to dress casual, I think overtime society has become lazier and each decade less and less is expected of them. Even the whole slang thing! I think they should stop the trends or any source of entertainment to dress like that. Parents should make sure their kids dress proper, and they seem to let teens slide because they are "teenagers", I think everyone should dress better in public!

Yes, pajama wearing in public is really pushing the fashion envelope a little too far---I have always felt this way even when this was the peak of trendiness. I am really into the latest trends yet there are some things that are just wrong.
When I first saw that women were letting the bra strap show I was a little disconcerted but now I am doing this and very happy that it is in style so I can forget trying to pin it in place.
I live in a tourist city and see so many styles or anti-styles from all over---I think people could use a few lessons on style. I had to learn a few things myself but I think I am dressing very well these days and appropriately.
Oh yeah, one last thing----in my town, on rare occasions I will see a woman in a bikini walking in the downtown area which is several blocks from the beach---now that is totally wrong!

Wearing shorts to the office depends entirely on how that office runs. If customers/clients can see you, wearing shorts is probably a bad idea. But if not, and if the boss doesn't care, why would it matter? And who cares what you wear to the movies, as long as your pajamas don't violate any public indecency laws? It's dark in there, no one can see you anyway, and you're just there to enjoy yourself.

Well, what can you do? It is a bit too casual, but at least people are comfortable. As long as they know to wear formal clothes at weddings, business meetings, funerals, it's all good. But once I see someone wearing pj's to a morgue, that's just too much.

YES! Absloutely. Fat and poorly dressed. Just great, isn't it? What the hell is our country coming to? Noone should wear jammies in public. ANYwhere. Noone should let their bra strap show either...just because it's "ok" now and "everyone else does it". No. Everyone does NOT do it. It's EXTREMELY tacky. The whole damn country is being taken over by Walmart shoppers.
Get out of bed and fix yourself up America! Take pride in youself! Look good, feel good! Speak correctly - easy on the slang. And keep that bra strap COVERED!

what's informal about denims or t-shirts? the following in u.s., human beings in ordinary words dress formally for particular events. How come foreigners dress so posh? do not get me incorrect, i'm not attempting to offend the overseas human beings.

Yes, wearing pajamas in public (movies or elsewhere) is too casual.
You should only where pajamas outside of your house if you're sleepwalking.

Wow, isn't that the truth. I work in a store and our customers come to shop in PJs all the time. And the guys with those pants down around their a$$ drives me insane.
