Ordinary peanut butter rubbed on it will work. The natural kind does best because it is very oily and I prefer crunchy over smooth because it helps scrape the glue off. Try it! You'll see! It works on getting gum out of hair, as well, should you ever need to know.

You need to disolve the sticky goo from the tape with a solvent such as paint thinner or mineral spirits. You only need a little bit to dissolve a small piece of tape. And its wise to avoid skin contact by wearing gloves. If you don't like the idea of using a strong solvent, they sell a product just for removing tape and tape residue. The product is called GOO GONE. Its non-toxic and will take a while longer than the thinner to disolve the goo but it won't have the nasty fumes.

Buy a bottle of "Goo Gone" and a putty knife. Let the g.g. soak into the tape for about 5 minutes, then gently scrape it off with the edge of the putty knife. Good luck!

eucalyptus oil (or however you spell it) rocks for getting anything sticky off from any surface. For example, when you want to get a price label off your new bought watever, you use eucalyptus oil and rub it in. It becomes really easy to take off.
You can get eucalyptus oil in (i think) the US and definatly Australia. Maybe some other places... In Australia, easy to get in Safeway.
Good Luck!
