Failed power supply? Does it smell funny? If you have a tester, check whether the power supply is working.

Any answer you get on this one will be sheer guess work ! My guess is a resister in power supply start circuit usually around 560 k ohms , they often go high Resistance up to a few meg ohms, if you are able and have a multimeter measure any resister in power supply that has a yellow band as the 3rd band. Oh and while you are at it replace any low value electrolytic capacitors. All this assumes that you posses some ability in this direction, if you have not then forget it !!
