Start small. Slowly build into larger goals. There is no sense in making your first goal an unachievable lifetime goal. If you have daily goals, even hourly goals, you can build them into weekly, monthly, and yearly goals.
You become goal oriented, you're not born with it.

One good way to keep from being distracted would be to get off of the Yahoo answer boards and focus instead on meeting your goals.

Interesting question. I think there will always be distractions and temptations in our lives, but we need to focus on God and His Will for our lives and do everything that we have to to stay on that path. I'm not sure specifically what your concerns are, but I read a fascinating article about Courtship and making commitments in your relationships. This has really helped me out and get my priorities straight (of course #1. God). Hope it helps you in some way or another. Send me a message if you need any guidance or prayers. God bless!

God said to pray without ceasing. Simply talk to God about whatever sidetracks you, and ask for patience and strength to overcome. He'll most certainly provide you with these things.

Do your best. You'll succeed most of the time. That's good enough.
