Because the flavors not only blend but "meld" to create a far better dish than was started. Foods that do this well are chilli, soups and stews. Chicken is good cold but not reheated.

Because you don't have the hassle of cooking and cleaning up like when you first make it. Just open the container, stand over the sink and shovel it in your mouth with your fingers. Soooo easy, soooo satisfying!

Good question. Fried chicken and sweet potato pie come to mind. It may be psychological. Because you want to eat something so badly that you cant wait to re warm it your brain has already concluded that you are about to eat something delicious. Maybe?
