I would say the range for a girl to start nowadays is between the ages of 11 & 15. The cramping is probably just gas, but it could very possibly be your body trying to start. I started getting hair around the age of 9 & started at the age of 12. My sister on the other hand started getting hair at 11 & started at 14. So, you really never know. It's just one of God's gifts to women. They suck, but we have it for a reason! Maybe your mom should take you to the Dr's to discuss this in further detail with you.

you are around the normal age. it can take as long as a year after you notice pubic hair and breast growth for you to actually have your period. what kind of cramping are you having? upper or lower stomach area? people get cramps in different places. I get mine in my lower back and in the pubic area. which can be the worst ones. other get them in their stomach area and still others don't have cramps at all. talk to your mom and your doctor. they will be able to tell you better.
"Puberty generally starts earlier for a girl, some time between 8 and 13 years of age. For most girls, the first evidence of puberty is breast development, but it may be the growth of pubic hair in some."

Between 11 & 12 but there are lots of girls who get it earlier. I know someone who got hers at age 9. That seems to happen more oftern these days. Some people don't get it until they are 16 or older. So it depends on your body. It sounds like you may be starting soon.

You seem to have signs that you may be close to staring your period. Has someone talked with you and explained what to expect? The starting age seems to be getting earlier and earlier. Some 10 year olds have periods but don't worry if you are 13 or 14 and haven't started.

Yes, and the average age is 11. You can also look forward to chest pains because the hormones released during your period cause the other changes in your body that turn you from a girl to a woman.

It sounds to me as if you could be about ready to start. And you are at a normal age where girls do start. I started when I was 10. Usually it is between 10 and 15 years. Everyone is different.

Once you start to develop breast buds, pubic hair and underarm hair your period is right around the corner. I would suggest you talk with someone your close to, your mom, big sis, aunt so that you can have some items on hand when that day arrives.

Yes. Average age is around 13. For some ethnic groups, it's a little earlier. Keep a feel out for other changes that are going on with your body.

I was 9 in a half years old when I first got my period. You will usually start your period 2 years after your breasts start developing!!! Most girls will usually begin at12 or 13; but it could arrive earlier or later then normally expected.

My two kids started at 11 and 14. Yes you're at that time of life and you may experience a false alarm or two before it really starts. It's probably a good idea to keep some pads in your purse from now on. No tampons though. wait a year. TSS is not fun.
