How do you define power?

Men own more things and property in this world (due to ages of subjugating and minimalizing women). This could be construed as "more power".

If you were talking about personal physical power, I believe that it's been studied and the results were that men have more muscle mass but women have the vagina, which is the strongest muscle.

If you define power in cubic centimeters, it would be men, they buy the hugest engines (perhaps compensating for something), although women in SUVs are beginning to catch up.

Well i think that people like to believe that it is equal because that is supposed to be what we are shooting for. However there has been a total flip flop in the sex power issue. Men used to rule the roost. But now i would have to say that women have the advantage. Due to minority and sex quotas at companies a woman might get a job over a better qualified man just so the company can fill a quota. Same thing in college. However women are still persecuted, just not as much as say 40 years ago.

Depends on the man or woman and the situation. I've known men to hold all the cards and I've known women to hold all the cards. When it comes to relationships it usually depends on who loves whom more. The more you are in love the less power you have over the other. Of course we should not try to control others but often this is the case even if not consciously so, but nevertheless it is by default.

As for other scenarios men have more power because they tend to be physically stronger but women can be stronger in that if you touch them even if they touched you first, and you are the male, chances are you'll be the one going to jail. Women learn the power of word to compensate for the lack of brawn and in my experience can tell wicked lies to get what they want, even to the point of revenge. Men on the other hand tend to be more aggressive which often can land them jobs. It is also a help they do not get pregnant which also helps the job situation. Women on the other hand often get alimony and child support without having the worries of having to work. Single mothers can easily get government assistance etc.

So you see not so much a matter of who is stronger but what are one anothers strengths are. There is no innate more powerful only their respective strengths in context to the situation. I hope your guy friend is satisfied.

Men are very visual creatures and women have the curves that men will do anything for.

If she wants to she can train him into doing just what she wants and getting her way.

Men, on the other hand take strong leadership rolls in the work place and at home. Most of the real decisions are made by a man, yes there are exceptions to everything.. but for the most part its true...

I guess I really don't have a direct answer for you.. sorry.. I tried!

I would say that we (women) want the "power" in a relationship. This has came to my attention recently and I looked at all of my friends cracking the whip on thier husbands or boyfriends. I see this in my parents, grandparents, cousins, neighbors, friends, and co-workers relationships. It seems that we have, in todays society, successfully reduced a man to be subservient to us. Why? At what cost to our family and home? All of them, even my mom, seem to embrace this idea of "I can take half" instead of the whole thing. Now who in thier right mind is happy with 50% when if they worked harder at being a good mom and a good wife, could have 100% with thier husband/boyfriend. It seems that women of limited cognitive ability have come before us to lay this emotional instead of logical response. We turn to the state to get an alturnative, child support, alimony, ect. and pretend that this empowers us. This just gives us a way out of the relationship and an alturnative to having to try a little harder to be a good wife and a good mom. Just about all of us have done it and we are so much less as WOMEN for doing it.

Woman of course –Its obvious: For 350 years, men outnumbered women on college campuses. Now, in every state, every income bracket, every racial and ethnic group, and most industrialized Western nations, women reign, earning an average 57% of all BAs and 58% of all master's degrees in the U.S. alone. There are 133 girls getting BAs for every 100 guys -- a number that's projected to grow to 142 women per 100 men by 2010, according to the U.S. Education Dept. If current trends continue, demographers say, there will be 156 women per 100 men earning degrees by 2020.
There are three woman graduating university for every two men. Under-qualified, today man are struggling to make it in the feminized workplace where traditional hierarchies, rigid working structures and hours are a thing of the past. Companies owned by women are growing at double the rate. Women are becoming more qualified for leadership and decision making positions, and will gain the upper hand economically. Politic is evolving and women will one day in the not too distant future wield the majority of power. In Sweden and Norway , it is already taking place! Women are on average more organized, and efficient than men they are beginning to gain control over the marriage relationship, women tend to eat better and live a healthier lifestyle than men, woman outlive man by an average of seven years, woman outnumbered man ,females chromosomes carries more genetic information than males .In sports female athletes keep improving their achievements much faster If such a tendency remains, the men's and women's physical ability will become the equal in 2050-2100

Men don't have as much power as they'd like to think. I'll tell
you why...Ultimatetly, men need women. So, women do
have power to put men in power in some very compromising
situations. Remember Clinton?? Gary Hart?? The list goes
on, and has for centuries. So, yeah, women do have the
power. Men just don't want to admit it. It's their EGO...Let
go of my EGO.....

It depends on how you look at the relationship.... guys seem to have the power, but women act like they like guys with power (that makes us want to act powerful)..... We want women... women want men... I think it's a paradox. Nobody really has the power.

If you count everything, marriage, politics, education, business, religeon and on and on and on. Women do! Because even though men may be on the forefront, women are the ones behind the scenes running things. If not in the board rooms, class rooms churches etc... definitly in the bedroom and they control the men and how they think. It may not be right... but it's true. Women can ***** and ***** about not being in control... but ultimately it's our words that are running things. If not in the front lines, definitly behind the scenes.

Almost all wars through history were fought for or over women. Not one war was ever fought over men because who cares. Not women. Cause she knows she is always going to be able to deal with whatever comes her way.
