for example i read a case on the internet where the person was born blind (without a optic nerve) and later at one point had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital then he SAW his body and heard the doctors working on him he also SAW the instruments the doctors were using! then when he woke up he was blind again but he told the docs what he SEEN what was happening and he was shocked to find out how he looked like cause he coudnt be able to see himself since he as born blind! now how coud he even imagine this? since he doesnt even know what its like to see in the first place? that case baffled the doctors ! then theres other cases where people float above their bodies and see a bluish cord that connects them to their physical bodies! then theres the case of a 3 year old girl who died for 15 minutes came back and told the docs she seen the docs working on her and then seen a tunnel with illuminated beings of light at the other end that told her to go back because it was not her time and she had a life review etc! why woud a 3 year old child make this up? do yall really think theres a afterlife? i seriously do! all this **** cant just be explained by science or because its the brain doing it! BS! how can the brain make a person whos blind see his own effin body and see himself and the docs trying to revive him? i mean cmon now! it cant be all in the brain! science cannot explain where the spirit (consciosness awareness) is in the brain! they just assume its the neurons! what do yu guys gotta say about his? if its the neurons which make us conscious then how come people that were dead for 15 minutes with their brainwaves dead and heart not working be able to see hear and view their own body and see what the doctors where doing? then later be confirmed by the doctors?

Anyone can post a load of BS on the internet.

It's easy enough to test whether or not OOB experiences are real with an objective and ethical experiment, but no-one ever bothers to even try. Since they happen frequently in hospital emergency rooms, and since these experiences frequently involve the individual observing themselves from basically ceiling level, just set up a series of easily recognizable drawings facing the ceiling in emergency rooms - above the point where others would be able to see them.

After someone who has been through it is ready for discharge, ask them to participate in the experiment. If they agree, ask them if they had an OOBE and if so, did they see the picture facing up, and if so, what was it.

If these things are real, there should be a strong correlation between the answers and the actual pictures in use. I have recommended this experiment for years, and have even begun to see others recommending it as well. Why doesn't anyone who promotes this stuff take an interest in performing it?

ok, the first thing suspicious about your statement is, "i read a case on the internet". the internet is a prowling ground for crazies. you can put up anything you want on the internet, be it real or not. most likely it's NOT real. also, the optic nerve only transfers signals, but vision (understanding what we see) doesn't occur in your eyes, it occurs in your brain, your occipital lobe to be specific. so any damage or irregular activity in that area of the brain could possibly mimic sight by bright flashes or something.
another thing, many people have problems discerning dreams from reality. i can dream that my "spirit" is floating above my body, but that doesn't make it so.
if you want to believe in an afterlife, go ahead, but know that there is NO science that proves an afterlife.
there is science that shows that near death experiences, ie bright lights, tunnels, and ethereal beings are caused by our brain.

the moral is, don't believe everything medical you read on the internet. unless of course its on pubmed. or the discovery channel website. if you want information go to your local library and research the way science nerds have been for decades, by looking up journal articles.

I believe we've got souls (manifestations of ourselves on the spiritual level) which are connected to our physical bodies somehow. Strain that connection, and sometimes people have those 'out of body experiences'. I really believe that's what they were; even if we're reduced to our spiritual selves, if we were still barely connected to our bodies, we'd still be partially in the physical world, and we might be able to percieve it.
