While a Dell Inspiron 9300 is capable of running Vista, it doesn't do it very well. Early reports on Beta 2 suggest that Vista on the 9300 runs so slowly that even integrated programs like Internet Explorer take MINUTES to load up.

I'd advise against it. XP is fine.

From everything that I've read about Vista, there are a lot of system requirements that will make some (but not all) current systems not able to run Vista.
